Pelican Valley to Lamar Valley(Yellowstone National Park) 6 days, 5 nights Venture into one on the most remote areas of Yellowstone National Park!
The night before your trip departure, meet us at our lodge in Cooke City, Montana, located at the northeast entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Here, spend the night in one of our cozy, rustic cabins. Meet the rest of the gang going and we can answer any last minute questions you may have.

Day 1 and 2
Wake up to a hearty breakfast together in our lodge, and then we will head for the trailhead. Begin your ride at Yellowstone Lake, the heart of Yellowstone National Park, and ascend lush Pelican Valley, a popular grizzly bear habitat and management area. Ride approximately 9 miles into remote Yellowstone backcountry to your first camp just over Mist Pass, spending the first 2 nights, and 1 full day riding and exploring your beautiful surroundings.

Day 3
The 3rd day you will ride approximately 7 miles and progress to the next camp, descending Mist Creek to its confluence with the upper Lamar River where you will set up for the night.

Day 4, 5, and 6
On day 4, you will continue riding 7 miles and setting up the last camp for 2 nights. The trail follows the Lamar River which is home to the Druid wolf pack, ancestors of the original wolves introduced in the Lamar Valley in 1995. You may hear the distant howling of wolves at night or even spot one of these inhabitants!

With the Lower Lamar Valley being considered the 'Serengeti 0f Yellowstone', all of the Park's many animal species are a possible sighting- bison, antelope, grizzly and black bear, moose, coyote, wolves, foxes, golden and bald eagles... to name a few.

You will have day 5 to do whatever suits you; try fishing the upper waters of the Lamar or ride to Miller Creek and explore. You may just want to relax and if you are brave, take a dip in the clear waters of the Lamar!

All the while, enjoying delicious meals in the backcountry around an open fire!
