Season Begins September 15
All our hunts are fair-chase on public forest service ground. We measure our success not just in numbers and kill percentages but in the quality of the hunt and the pursuit of wild animals in their domain. The hunt tests a person's skill against nature and preserves a western hunting heritage for future generations to enjoy.

*Due to the following events, we do not operate our Elk hunting camp at this time.
Every year Sept 15 opens a truly unique hunting area in Montana. Hunting elk during the rut is hard to beat and yet with a rifle almost too good to be true. Our fall camp is located as the crow flies only about one mile from the northern boundary of Yellowstone National Park on Wolverine creek just a couple miles from the confluence with Slough Creek, it is in my opinion one of the best elk camps in South Central Montana. Ravaged by wildfire back in 1988 actually made for some great wildlife habitat, opening up the forest canopy and providing the animals with some great foraging conditions. This lead to a peak into the Northern elk population in 1995, but unfortunately has steadily decreased with the introduction of wolves, increasing numbers of Grizzly bears and other large predators. This was a bad combination of events for the Northern herd and has severely impacted their numbers. I'm still optimistic the elk numbers will stabilize, and with the possibility of hunting both Griz and Wolves in the future, this in turn may help control their populations and give some balance back to the Northern Yellowstone Ecosystem.
